  News Release

The following is a news release from the Oregon Teacher Standards and Commission. If there are more details that we can provide for you, please feel free to contact us (see Contact Us).

  November Holidays
Released: Monday, October 27, 2003 at 5:00 PM

Legal compensable holidays in November are Veterans' Day on Tuesday, November 11th, and Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 27th. Most state government offices will be closed in observance of these holidays.

Department of Administrative Services policy states an agency head may substitute another day to be observed by all employees of the agency in lieu of a legal compensable holiday. The Executive Director offered and employees agreed to remain open for business on Veterans' Day, November 11th, and instead observe an alternative holiday and close the office on Friday, November 28th. This will give employees a four-day weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday.

We sincerely hope this observance of an alternative holiday does not inconvenience our clientele in any way. Our voice mail message and electronic mail responses will be changed to reflect the office closure on Friday, November 28th. Notice has also been posted on our front door.
