  TSPC Rescheduled for January 15-16, 2004
  Released: Monday, January 12, 2004 at 5:00 PM
 
 
 
The TSPC meeting has been rescheduled for January 15-16 at Willamette University, 900 State Street, Salem OR. The Executive Committee will meet at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday the 15th and will only reconvene on Friday the 16th at 7:30 if necessary. The full Commission will convene at 8:30 a.m. on January 15th and is expected to adjourn mid afternoon on January 16th. The full Commission will meet in the Alumni Lounge, on the third floor of Putnam University Center. The closest parking lot is accessible from Bellevue Street near the intersection of 12th Street. Directions, parking information and a campus map are available on Willamette University's website at www.willamette.edu/directions.htm.

Announcement of new standing committee appointments;:
Review of ETS recommended test scores for new middle-level endorsement areas;:
Adoption of temporary rule for Standard Teaching License;:
Reports from Continuing Teaching License program completers;:
Review of new issues related to Highly Qualified Teachers;:
Report on diversity and cultural competence initiatives;:
Rule hearings on OARs 584-036-0062; 584-060-0171; and 584-070-0011;:
Adoption of permanent rules for No Child Left Behind, Division 100;:
Adoption of amendments to Distance Learning Teachers, OAR 584-036-0017;:
Adoption of amendments to Substitute Teaching License OAR 584-060-0181.

A public hearing is scheduled for January 15th at 4:00 p.m. to receive oral and written testimony on clarifying fingerprint check requirements (OAR 584-036-0062), Removing certain requirements for Limited Teaching License renewal (OAR 584-060-0171) and Allowing an alternative route to the Initial School Counselor License (OAR 584-070-0011).
