The next meeting of the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission will be held on the campus of Southern Oregon University (SOU), Stevenson Union facility, 1250 Siskiyou Boulevard, in Ashland on July 28-30, 2004. For a map of the campus, driving directions and local weather conditions, please visit SOU's Web site at www.sou.edu.

A DRAFT agenda is attached to assist you in determining your travel and lodging needs if you plan on attending any or all of this meeting. Most of Wednesday, July 28th, is reserved to receive public and written testimony on proposed amendments to and adoption of administrative rules. It may be necessary to adjust the agenda slightly if the entire time allotted to public hearings is not needed. A committee meeting is also scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, July 27, to discuss performance standards for the continuing teaching license. The TSPC Executive Committee will meet on Tuesday, July 27th, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The final agenda, listing all agenda items and attachments, will be available on our Web site by July 16th.

There are a number of lodging facilities in Ashland. Please visit the Chamber of Commerce Web site for various lodging choices; most are within 1-2 miles of SOU. Arrangements have been made for Commissioners to stay at the Windmill Inn & Suites of Ashland.

During the meeting, lunch will be catered by Southern Dining, an on-campus food service department. For your dinner arrangements, the Chamber of Commerce also has a listing of nearby restaurants / lounges.
