  TSPC will meet August 3-5, 2005
  Released: Monday, July 25, 2005 at 5:00 PM
The Teacher Standards and Practices Commission will meet August 3-5, 2005, at Oregon State University Cascades Campus in Cascades Hall. On Tuesday evening, August 2nd the Executive Committee will meet from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Sully's Italian Restaurant in Redmond, and again on Thursday and Friday morning, if needed, in Room 211 in the Cascades Hall.

Wednesday, August 3rd, is reserved as a workshop training day on cultural competency for the Commissioners and late in the afternoon, an executive session (non-public) to consider disciplinary cases. The Full Commission will meet in public session Thursday, August 4th beginning at 8:00 a.m. to consider the usual Commission agenda items. Note: First thing on Friday, August 5th, at 8:00 a.m. the meeting will begin in executive session to consider a disciplinary case. At approximately 9:00 a.m., Commissioners and interested parties will participate in miscellaneous "cafeteria topics. This exercise is intended to include the Commission and all meeting attendees to discuss items of interest that have been on the Commission's agenda throughout the past year but remain unresolved and new topics.

Wednesday will include:
Non business workshop related to cultural competency with some State Board of Education members
Discipline agenda

Thursday's business will include:
Status of legislative bills and TSPC budget
ESOL Proposed Standards
Consequences of suspected cheating on NES Tests
Corban College proposal for post-baccalaureate initial teaching program
Lewis and Clark program approval extension request
Willamette University Initial and Continuing Administrator License Program
Meeting calendar for 2006-07
New issues on Initial Teaching Licenses
Electronic Conditional Assignment Permits
Consideration of several administrative rule amendments and adoptions
Clarifying the addition of endorsements and authorization levels to existing licenses
Consideration of approval of a new MAT program with the University of Phoenix

Friday's business will include:
Discussion on cafeteria topics
