| Summary of Commission Actions: November 3-4, 2005

Teacher Standards and Practices Commission met November 3-4, 2005, and took the following actions:
The Commission took action on 51 discipline cases. There were 27 orders entered. The Commission considered 24 preliminary investigation reports and charged 6 educator with violating standards.
5.1 The Lewis and Clark College site visit report was approved.
5.2 Southern Oregon University's program approval is pending; further information will be presented in January;
5.3 An interim site visit will be scheduled with NCC to review recent major program modifications, with a report to the Commission in January.
5.5 The Commission approved a temporary rule to allow teachers with 2 years of experience (from 3 years of experience) to supervise student teachers.
The Commission discussed all the items on the agenda with several issues returning to the January meeting for final resolution.
The Commission also voted not to accept anything but regionally accredited degrees for all licenses requiring a degree.

7.6 Repealed OAR 584-060-0021, former Continuing Teaching License (new rule at OAR 584-060-0022)
7.7 Amended OAR 584-100-0046, Preliminary Teaching License
7.9 Amended OAR 548-020-0040, Grounds for Disciplinary Action
7.10 Adopted OAR 584-019-0003, Notice of Opportunity for Hearing
7.11 Amended OAR 584-019-0010, Discovery and Subpoenas
Other Action by the Commission:
9.3 Approved a fee increase to be implemented beginning January 1, 2006 for all licenses
