  TSPC will meet May 11-12, 2006
  Released: Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 5:00 PM
 
 
 
The Teacher Standards and Practices Commission will meet May 11-12, 2006, at Portland State University (PSU), Smith Memorial Student Union, 1825 SW Broadway, Portland OR in SMU 333.

On Thursday, May 11th, the Executive Committee will meet from 7:00-8:00 a.m., at PSU, in the Education Building, Room ED604. The full Commission will convene on Thursday, May 11, at 8:00 a.m. to consider Preliminary Business, Program Approval Committee, Licensure Committee and Commission New Business.

On Friday, May 12th, the meeting will reconvene at 8:00 a.m. in executive session (non-public) to consider disciplinary cases. The full Commission will reconvene immediately following to consider administrative rule adoption and reports and any remaining Commission New Business items.

Northwest Christian College School Counseling Program and Education Program
Portland State University's Major Modification to Special Education Program
Proposed Autism Programs and Endorsements
Proposal for Cultural Competency Standards
Plan for adopting new Administrator and ESOL tests
Licensure of Human Resource Professionals
New Administrator Licensure Proposals
Amend Continuing Superintendent License
First Aid Card Requirements
ESOL / Immersion Program Licensure Issues
Basic / Standard Teaching License - Elementary Endorsements - HQT Issues
Educational Assistant Requirements, Licensure and Assignment Issues
Testing Reciprocity with Washington
SEM Score Adjustments 2006
Special Education HQT and Life Skills

DIRECTIONS TO PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY
From the EAST - Portland International Airport (I-205, I-84)
Follow signs to Interstate 205 South
Continue on I-205 to I-84 West to Portland
Follow I-84 to I-5 South
Go across the bridge, take Beaverton I-405 split to City Center (left lanes)
Take first exit, 4th Avenue
Turn left on SW Hall Street and right on SW Sixth to enter parking structure

From the EAST - Highway 26 - (Mt. Hood, Ross Island Bridge)
Follow Highway 26 West to Portland
Take City Center Exit
Turn right on First Avenue
Turn on SW Hall Street and right on SW Sixth to enter parking structure

From the NORTH - Washington, Vancouver, B.C.
Follow I-5 South to Portland
Once in Portland, remain in the left lanes
Follow signs to I-405 North
Take the 4th Avenue Exit
Turn left on SW Hall Street and right on SW Sixth to enter parking structure

From the WEST - Beaverton, St. Helens (Highway 26)
Follow Highway 26 East to Portland
Take Market Street/City Center Exit
Turn right on Fifth Avenue
Turn on SW Hall Street and right on SW Sixth to enter parking structure

From the SOUTH - Salem
Follow I-5 North
Take City Center Exit
Follow signs to I-405 North
Take 4th Avenue (immediate right)
Turn left on SW Hall Street and right on SW Sixth to enter parking structure

Parking at PSU:
Parking will cost $5.00 per day. The closest parking structure is Parking Structure I, located on Sixth Avenue between Hall and Harrison Streets. Permits will be available at the parking kiosk on Sixth Avenue. Arriving before 9:30 AM should allow you to find parking in Structure I. Any later, you would probably have to park in Parking Structure III, located between 12th and 13th Avenues and Market Street.
