  Lodging for August 2008 Commission Meeting
  Released: Monday, June 9, 2008 at 5:00 PM
The August 6-8, 2008, meeting of the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission will be held at The Inn at Otter Crest at 301 Otter Crest Drive, Otter Rock, Oregon. The Inn is located just off Highway 101 between Depoe Bay and Newport. The Inn at Otter Crest is just minutes from Newport to the south and Depoe Bay and Lincoln City to the north. You can take a walk on a secluded beach; explore tide pools and sea caves, bird watch and beach comb, follow migrating whales or deep sea fish from a charter boat as well as take a day-trip to nearby shopping and art galleries, visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium and enjoy spectacular sunsets.

The TSPC block of rooms is described below. All one and two bedroom units are individually owned so no two are exactly the same. To book a reservation, call 1-866-869-4291 or 541-765-2111 and identify yourself as a TSPC participant for the discounted rate of $105.00 per night. The reservation cut-off date is July 5, 2008. Rollaway beds are available for an additional $10 per day.

For individual reservations, cancellations must be made within 72 hours of the arrival date or the first-night room fee plus tax will be forfeited. Check-in is 5:00 p.m. and check-out is 12 noon. The room choices will be on a first come, first serve basis.

• Hotel Room - 2 Queen Beds
Up to four guests can be comfortably accommodated in two queen-size beds.

• Hotel Room - 1 King Bed
Up to two guests can be comfortably accommodated in 1 king size bed.

• Mini Unit - 1 Queen Bed
Located on upper floors, these accommodations have spectacular ocean views from the Oregon Coast. With a queen-size bed in the separate bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the sitting area, these units are well-suited for as many as four guests.

•Studio Unit - 1 Queen Murphy Bed
A bright and spacious living room with a fireplace and queen-size Murphy bed, plus full kitchen and dining area, this cozy accommodation is ideal for one or two guests.

Recreational Facilities & Activities:
Outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool spa, sauna, tennis, basketball, volleyball, fitness center, game room, children's water-view playground, hiking and jogging, biking, bird watching, beach combing, marine wildlife viewing, and storm watching.

Signature Amenities in all accommodations include:
Private deck, hair dryer, refrigerator, coffee maker, ironing board and iron, cable television, high-speed wireless internet access, and voice mail.

The Flying Dutchman Restaurant offers the best combined dining and views with the windows directly overlooking Gull Rock, the largest of the three Otter Rocks. The restaurant is open for dinner from 4 pm to 9 pm.

The Ward-Room Lounge is also a favorite spot to take in the spectacular view while enjoying an appetizer and a drink of your choice.
