  News Release
The following is a news release from the Oregon Teacher Standards and Commission. If there are more details that we can provide for you, please feel free to contact us (see Contact Us).
Character Questions on TSPC Applications have been REVISED
Released: Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 5:05 PM
The character questions that applicants must answer when applying for new licensure, licensure renewal or placement in a field experience or a practicum have changed.

The questions have been substantially revised to clarify information that TSPC needs in order to complete criminal and character background checks on all applicants as required by Oregon law. If you have previously applied with TSPC, please note that former "character question #10" has been deleted, reducing the number of questions from 11 to 10.

Likewise, the instructions for answering these questions have been revised to provide more detail concerning the documentation that applicants must deliver to TSPC. The new instructions for answering character questions are located on the TSPC Web page under the directory entitled Forms. This change affects all applications. See the TSPC website.

Effective January 1, 2011, TSPC will no longer accept old application forms. You will be required to complete a new application if you submit an old application form after that date. Additionally, your application for licensure will be deemed to be incomplete if an older application form is submitted.

Applicants, higher education institutions and school districts - please delete any and all blank copies of previous applications you have on file and download the new forms from our Web site.
