Upcoming delays in processing fingerprints at the Oregon State Police
Released: Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11:04 AM

On Saturday, August 16, 2014, the Oregon State Police Fingerprint Unit (AFIS) will be switching over to a new system, Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS). In preparation for this move, processing of fingerprint based background checks will be suspended on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 5 pm.

On Saturday, August 16, 2014, the new system will be configured, the network reconnected, and tested. Once the new ABIS system is operational, OSP will begin to process the cards in date order.

TSPC staff will monitor the progress of the transition and report any additional delays as soon as possible.
