  TSPC will meet January 29 - 30, 2015

The Teacher Standards and Practices Commission will meet January 29-30, 2015, at the Embassy Suites - Airport, 7900 NE 82nd Avenue, Portland, OR 97220 in the Pines Room and Pine Room II.

The full Commission will reconvene on Thursday, January 29th, at 8:15 a.m. for a lengthy presentation from Dr. Troy Hutchings, Education Research Chair from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Hutchings is an expert on educator professional conduct. The Commission will also consider: Licensure issues, Program Approval issues, Professional Practice issues, administrative rule proposals, and Commission business.

On Friday, January 30th, the Commission will reconvene at 8:30 a.m. in public session for consideration of Commission business. Immediately following, the Commission will then convene in Executive Session (non-public) to consider disciplinary cases. Immediately following, the Commission will then convene in public session for full Commission consideration of discipline orders and other business related to professional practice that must be conducted in public session.

The agenda containing the entire list of topics to be considered will be available on the TSPC Web site approximately 10 days prior to the meeting. You may also review the agenda and materials from past meetings on our Web site.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Embassy Suites in the event you need lodging arrangements for Wednesday or Thursday evening, January 28th or January 29th. Please make your reservation(s) prior to January 15th before the block of rooms expires. The room rate is $137 per night plus applicable tax. Commissioners please check with Heidi Reinhardt regarding your reservations. Check in time is 3:00 p.m. and check out time is noon. Please call 503-460-3000 to make your reservation and identify yourself as a TSPC participant to receive the discounted rate.

The Embassy Suites onsite restaurant, "Waters Bar and Grille" Restaurant and Lounge, opens at 6:00 a.m. for breakfast, serves lunch until 1:30 p.m., and dinner from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. For additional information on the hotel, please visit their Web site at:
