The Teacher Standards and Practices Commission will meet November 5-6, 2015, at the Salem Convention Center, 200 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97301 in the Santiam 5/6 rooms.
The Executive Committee will meet on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, 250 Division St NE, Salem, OR 97301. The Committee will primarily be discussing meeting agenda, proposed meeting calendar for 2016-2017, the nominating committee and the executive director hiring process.

The full Commission will start on Thursday, November 5th, at 8:00 a.m. for an informal workshop and convene as a group at 9:00 a.m. The Commission will consider: preliminary business, presentations, licensure issues, program approval issues, professional practice issues, administrative rule proposals, and commission business. The Commission expects to recess at about 5:00 p.m.

On Friday, November 6th, the Commission will reconvene at 8:30 a.m. in Executive Session (non-public) to consider legal matters and disciplinary cases. Immediately following, the Commission will then convene in public session for full Commission consideration of discipline orders and other business related to professional practice that must be conducted in public session. The Commission expects to formally adjourn before 4:00 p.m.

The agenda containing the entire list of topics to be considered will be available on the TSPC website approximately 10 days prior to the meeting. You may also review the agenda and materials from past meetings on our Web site.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Red Lion Hotel Salem. In the event you need lodging arrangements for Wednesday or Thursday evening, November 4th or November 5th. Please make your reservation(s) prior to October 21st before the block of rooms expires. The room rate is $89 per night plus applicable tax. Commissioners please check with Heidi Reinhardt regarding your reservations. Check in time is 3:00 p.m. and check out time is 11:00 a.m. Please call 503-460-3000 to make your reservation and identify yourself as a TSPC participant to receive the discounted rate.

The Red Lion's onsite restaurant, "Willamette Valley Grill" Restaurant and Lounge, opens at 6:00 a.m. for breakfast, serves lunch until 2:00 p.m., and dinner from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. For additional information on the hotel, please visit their Web site at:
