  Commission Meeting, March 7th
  Released: Friday, March 1, 2002 at 5:00 PM
 
 
 
The next Commission meeting is scheduled for March 7-8 at the Wittenberg Inn & Conference Center, 5188 Wittenberg Lane N, Keizer OR 97303. Concurrent meetings of the Program Approval, Licensure and Discipline Committees will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 7. The full Commission will convene at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, and reconvene on Friday, March 8, at 8:00 a.m.

A public hearing is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, to receive oral and written testimony to: 1) Clarify the parameters of full-time student teaching requirement; 2) Establish new exam for the social studies endorsement; 3) Revise the reading endorsement content area and competencies and amend rules to require completion of a reading program; 4) Revise and update professional technical licensure; and 5) Clarify and refine rules for middle school teachers in self-contained classrooms.
