  TSPC will meet January 9-10, 2003
  Released: Friday, December 27, 2002 at 5:00 PM
 
 
 
The TSPC will meet January 9-10 at the Comfort Suites in the Oregon/Pacific Room at 530 Hawthorne Avenue SE in Salem. The Executive Committee will meet at 7:30 a.m. The full Commission will convene at 8:00 a.m. on January 9 and is expected to conclude on or about 2:00 p.m. on January 10.

Business will include: a presentation from Shari Francis, Vice President for State Relations from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE); a presentation outlining the history of the development of the new initial and continuing licensure system; a preview into the Commission's data-based research abilities; consideration of suspension of the Praxis PE Content and Math Pedagogy tests; a proposal for exploring the design of endorsement area competencies; amendments to increase TSPC fees; and recent research on the results of teacher preparation on new teacher performance.
