  TSPC will meet March 6-7, 2003
  Released: Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 5:00 PM
The TSPC will meet March 6-7, at the Comfort Suites in the Oregon/Pacific Room at 630 Hawthorne Avenue SE in Salem. The Executive Committee will meet at 7:30 a.m. The full Commission will convene at 8:30 a.m. on March 6 and is expected to conclude on or about 12:00 p.m. on March 7.

Business will include: a presentation and discussion related to High Quality Teacher and No Child Left Behind; a report on the Legislative Session and issues that have arisen; a discussion of cultural competency and its role in teacher licensure; a presentation by Lesley University from Massachusetts seeking approval for a Continuing Teaching License program; consideration of the fall site visits to Willamette University and Pacific University; consideration of a temporary rule regarding student teachers and shortened K-12 school years; policy discussion regarding the Master's Degree requirement within the Continuing Teaching License; and a policy discussion regarding the Restricted Transitional License used as an extension of the Transitional Teaching License.
