  No Child Left Behind Task Force Meeting
  Released: Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 5:00 PM
TSPC has convened a Task Force to look at proposed rules and proposals for the No Child Left Behind Act. Task Force representatives include:

Brian Putnam, Oregon Department of Education
Chuck White, Oregon School Personnel Association and Silver Falls School District
Teresa Ferrer, Oregon Education Association
Bill Beck, Confederation of Oregon School Administrators
Kevin McCann, Oregon School Boards Association
David Myton, Interim Dean, George Fox University
Margaret Mahoney, University of Oregon
Jan Madland, TSPC Coordinator of Teacher Licensure
Vickie Chamberlain, TSPC Executive Director

The Task Force will meet on Monday, April 14, from 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the TSPC Conference Room, 465 Commercial Street NE, Salem OR. The Task Force's recommendations on temporary rules for highly qualified teachers will be considered at the Commission meeting on May 8-9. These rules will take effect immediately. However, permanent rules must ultimately be adopted within six months.
