  Public Hearing on Adoption and Amendment of Rules for Licensure
  Released: Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 5:00 PM
 
 
 
The Teacher Standards and Practices Commission will hold a hearing on May 8, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. at the Comfort Suites at Salem, 630 Hawthorne Avenue SE, Salem OR 97301 on the following rules:

584-005-0005 42 Amends the definition of Emergency License
584-017-0150 Stipulates the number of practica required to obtain authorization for K-12 in the specialty areas.
584-060-0071 Stipulates the number of practica required to obtain authorization for K-12 in the specialty areas.
584-060-0210 Establishes an Emergency Teaching License, not to exceed one year, when a school district demonstrates extenuating circumstances that merit the issuance of the license in order to protect the district's programs or students.
584-065-0050 Revises the Reading endorsement content area to align with the International Reading Standards.

The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Hearing and Statement of Need and Fiscal Impact were filed with the Secretary of State on March 12, 2003.
