  TSPC will meet May 8-9, 2003
  Released: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 5:00 PM
The TSPC will meet May 8-9, at the Comfort Suites in the Oregon/Pacific Room at 630 Hawthorne Avenue SE in Salem. The Executive Committee will meet at 7:30 a.m. The full Commission will convene at 10:30 a.m. on May 8 and is expected to conclude mid afternoon on May 9.

Business will include: a discussion related to High Quality Teacher and No Child Left Behind; proposed rules for No Child Left Behind Act; a report on Legislative Session issues and the budget; and a discussion on the development of program standards similar to national Specialty Program Area standards.

A public hearing is scheduled for May 8th at 3:00 p.m. to receive oral and written testimony on establishing an Emergency License, aligning the reading endorsement content area with the International Reading Standards and establishing the number of practica needed to obtain a K-12 license in specialty areas.
